Enthalpy of Vaporization
2009 — Mixed Media — 12"x40" c-prints with thread
The K-Pg boundary layer (formerly known as the K-T layer) is a remainder of one of the most significant events in the geological and paleobiological history of the world—the mass extinction event of the dinosaurs by a large asteroid between the Cretaceous (K) and Paleogene (Pg) periods.
Enthalpy of Vaporization takes inspiration from scientific information about this K-Pg boundary layer in order to direct photographic imagery that is both two and three dimensional in form.
